July 22, 2011 "St. Louis, New York and Switzerland! YAY!"

It was another hot summer day here in Southwest Florida, however, the Everglades was beautiful today. The mosquito's were not too bad (not by normal standards anyway) and the sky's were beautiful. Although the customers were subjected to some rain showers out on the airboats, they still seemed to enjoy the ride.

Now that we are getting some consistent rains in the glades, the water is beginning to rise and flow as necessary to wash out the brackish water and supply the much needed "fresh water" for the alligators so they are coming back for our customers to see. There were several out today and for sure they gave a good show as always.

I want to thank those folks who ventured out with us today! It was a joy to have you with us. If you enjoyed your trip and want others to know how your experience was, check out the link to "Trip Advisor - Everglades Adventure" on the right side of this blog and leave a few comments. I appreciate it!

Have a great stay here in our area and a safe trip back to your homes!

July 2, 2011 "Fun In The Everglades!"

We started our day picking up our guests in a rain storm. With lightening and thunder all around, it was hard to believe that we would make this journey successful! However, just as the radar showed, after we got below Collier Blvd, the skys cleared and we had great weather. It was somewhat overcast, which frankly helped keep the heat down.

With only 5 guests today, I was able to jump on the boat with Captain Kim and enjoy a ride in the glades. Man do I love gliding through the shallow waters of the marsh lands and prarie lands. We saw alligators and birds and blue crabs! And it was wonderful to see the little gators and get shots of the folks holding those prehistoric creatures!

Thank you all for coming with me on Safari today and I hope you carry with you some special memories!

Have a wonderful stay and come back to see us soon!
